Have You Struck Out?
Spring is just around the corner and baseball camps have started in Florida and other warm states. One of the most devastating things about baseball is going to the plate and receiving the three strike call. We feel failure and disgust run coursing through our veins. We do not want to turn around and face the fans and the coach with the reality that we struck out.
How devastating it would be to face our savior at our judgment and hear him say, "Depart from me you worker of iniquity, I never knew you." Today I notice people confuse church membership with being a Christian. Going to church does not make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car. You must have a personal relationship with God. You must see yourself as a sinner and God sent his son Jesus Christ to die for you. You must be tired of the empty, meaningless life you are muttering through. You must say Lord I am a sinner and do not deserve your grace, but your word promises if I am sincere and call on your name and believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again on the third day, I am assured of my salvation.
This is not a social club this is a new way of living. The old things in your life will seem trivial and the new things that come in will mean the world. My closing thoughts will include the question, "Have you ever ask the Lord into your life?" Remember his word says, "Today is the day of salvation." If you feel the Holy Spirit tugging on your heart strings, please ask him into your life.
In Christ,
"Big Daddy"
