Who Is Really Blessed?
Hebrews 7:7 (NLT) Without question, the person who has the power to give a blessing is greater than the one who is blessed.
On my mission trips to Romania, I always took tissues, shampoo, soap, pain relieves, and an assortment of common things we easily find at our local discount stores in America. These items were to be delivered to the "gypsies" (the Roma) of Romania.
Upon entering the homes of many of the Roma. I was humbled to recall how richly blessed I have been over the years, beyond measure., from God's hand. While I was a blessing to them, they ended up being such a blessing to me.
What an awesome challenge-to bless someone else! When we have the resources to bless others, we should do so. I opened my heart to the Roma of Romania, and they opened their homes to me. I gave them supplies, but they gave me friendship. Really, who received the greater blessing? As Victor Hugo once said, "As the purse is emptied, the heart is filled."
