| What Does Spring Mean In Your Life? |
What does spring mean in your life? Many think of a new beginning in nature. The flowers, trees, grass and ect. all come to life after a long cold winter. Other individuals think of spring cleaning and sprucing up their house and lawn. And some think of spring break and a short reprieve from their daily school schedules, to prepare for the last few hectic weeks of school and final exams. My question to you is what does spring mean to you?
May I share with you how spring has evolved in my life. Please tolerate my reminiscing about the "good old days" that were not so good. Spring meant recording the odometer reading on the wall in my fathers basement and never returning to it until November or December and see how any miles I traveled in the bike season. Spring meant six months of riding and who cares about anything else. Then work and responsibilities entered my life and the numbers on the wall started going down and my occupation continued to consume more time. I lived from day to day working on the road, my mileage went up and my friends were steadily dwindling, as the sand in the top of the hour glass.
One year after my conversion I visited a physician. This wonderful man told me I had only one year to live. I quickly inquired regarding about option #2. He told me about the option but was quick to inform me that due to existing health problems that I was not a candidate for this option. I was devastated as I returned home to inform my wife of the news. We began searching everywhere for a solution regarding my impending departure. Needles to say I told my boss about the news and he immediately told me of an individual that just went through the same issues. He called the lady and we talked. She said there were problems and she would not go through it again. This to me was great news in that she was still alive.
My wife and I called this physician and made an appointment to see if I was a candidate for this surgery. He looked like Doggie Houser but was brilliantly blunt. We trusted God and the surgeon for a miracle. The surgery went well, with lengthy complications, and my recovery was a period of 18 months.
I am alive 6 years out of surgery because individuals were blunt with me and directed me in the path that they knew was best for me. My surgery was in the spring but I did not see much of the summer or winter. You must remember I now experience spring every day I wake from my sleep. God has open my eyes to the many things that I should be thankful. Every individual and venture our group engages is a true gift from God.
Has anyone ever told you about eternal life? You have no idea when you might depart from this earthly home and the question to you is, do you know for sure you would go to heaven? You must have a desire in your heart for a change. This is not a fire escape from hell it is a spiritually lead life. You must see yourself as a sinner and sincerely be repentant of your sins. You must ask God to come into your life and be your guide and savior. Please make that choice, in that you are very special to God and he has a plan for you.
